Everything we know so far about Red Dead Online, its gameplay details, beta, release date, rumors about its battle royale and much more.
Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is approaching us like a bomb set to detonate. With so much promise by Rockstar Games, there is a whole wave of excitement ready to burst out.
So why not get ourselves familiar with all the details which have surfaced so far, including characters, release dates, gameplay details, and the highly anticipated, Red Dead Online.
The Release Date – PS4 and Xbox One
Starting off the release date of this western themed open world game has been set for 26th October 2018 for both PS4 and Xbox One. This release date was announced on the official website of the game and alongside this reveal, was a note that gave a few pointers about Red Dead Redemption 2 as well.
Red Dead Online and its Release Date
Red Dead Online release date is yet to be confirmed but we do know that a beta is coming to us in November. According to Rockstar Games, they consider Red Dead Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 two separate projects. Both will grow and evolve on their own which is why Red Dead Online won’t release alongside Red Dead Redemption 2.
Thee online public beta will launch to test Red Dead Online before they roll out the final build.
Will it have the Co-operative play?
Well, this news was pretty thin and for quite some time no one was actually sure about it. However, in an interview with IGN, the design director, Imran Sarwar revealed that there will be a co-operative play. He said that the Red Dead online will use the gameplay mechanics of the original game, to combine the multiplayer and co-operative gameplay and narrative components
Those who have played Red Dead Redemption 2, they would know that online component was one of the major attractions of the game. So it a sigh of relief for fans to know that it is making a comeback, this certainly meets a lot of expectations.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay
On August 9 Rockstar finally revealed a piece of the action in the form of a gameplay. A footage was released, in which Rockstar laid open the kind of world, fans would be seeing in this western themed game. Since it was the first time for a gameplay footage, the excitement was off the roofs.
In the gameplay video, we saw gunfights, on horseback and on foot as well. We also saw the deadeye system which was one the major attractions of the gameplay trailer.
Apart from all that we also got to see how interactions with citizens of the US in the game work. It also showed how we will be tracking wounded animals as well as, how we would be interacting with our gang members.
Is It Coming On PC?
Well, there have been quite a lot of rumors which pointed out towards this game rolling out on PC. At one point one developer of this game did list it for a PC version as well, on his LinkedIn profile. However, it was removed later on, which added more to the rumor.
At the moment, let us assure you that no PC version has been confirmed by the devs and so it is a no for now. However, it would not be strange if Rockstar pushes a PC version as well, sometime later that is. GTA V was too pushed towards the end of a console generation, so it would not be much of a surprise if Rockstar rolls this one out on PC.
Still, once again bear in mind that at the moment Red Dead Redemption 2 is not rolling out on PC.
The Red Dead Characters
Just a few weeks back Rockstar took a very interesting approach towards characters, on how to reveal them. Rockstar released images of characters in the game with small biographies. Which was not only an attractive approach for fans but was also a good marketing strategy.
Red Dead Online Locations
Some of the Red Dead Redemption 2 locations have been revealed, which have been mentioned below.
Red Dead Online Battle Royale
Last but not the least, the Battle Royale rumors. As mentioned they are rumors so where ever you come across them, make sure that you take them as lightly as a feather.
Putting that into context, according to those rumors it seems to be that Rockstar might be adding its own take on the battle royale phenomenon in Red Dead Redemption 2’s online portion. However, there has been no confirmation and it seems highly unlikely.
That is pretty much it for now but do stay tuned as more information is likely to come, as the release date approaches fast.
