Rockstar Games confirms that its forthcoming western action-adventure title Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature the fan-favorite first-person mode at launch.
The first-person mode was arguably one of the coolest post-launch updates to come to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. Now, the gaming giant has revealed that its forthcoming Western action-adventure title Red Dead Redemption 2 will have the first-person mode available when it hits shelves in October. Needless to say, this could very well extend the quality of life for the game, as it has already made our most anticipated games of fall 2018 list.
For those interested in first person, the mode will be simple to activate. It can be activated or deactivated at any time and affects the entire game except for cutscenes. On PS4, Red Dead Redemption 2 players can cycle through the camera modes on the trackpad. One would imagine that the Xbox version would cycle in a similar manner, perhaps with the use of the D-pad or options button.
As awesome as this new mode is, it isn’t the only latest bit of news to be revealed concerning the western title. In another comparison to GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 will have an online mode known as Red Dead Online, and recently, Rockstar confirmed that it will hold an official beta trial for a short period of time. Once again, the popularity of the multiplayer component is up in the air, but it’s likely to mimic its predecessor, GTA Online.
While the first-person mode and Red Dead Online beta are reason enough for many players to saddle back up, there may still be some on the fence. However, these recently released screenshots may help sell Red Dead 2, as the game is clearly going all out.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch on October 26,2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
