The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Pro is being touted as the company’s and the world’s first smartphone to feature a quadruple camera system at the back. If you thought the P20 Pro ( review) was an innovative handset when it comes to the camera department, Samsung will have an eye-opener for us next month, when it unveils the latest smartphone.
A render of the alleged Samsung Galaxy A9 Star Pro has been unveiled and it shows a camera system that has been stacked vertically, just like how the P20 Pro’s camera system was aligned. Lots of manufacturers often choose this route since the lens does not get in the way of the other lens when you are attempting to combine two images for a decorated Bokeh effect, so while it might take a lot of space in that particular region, it will be really beneficial for smartphone photography.
According to the leaked specifications, the Galaxy A9 Star Pro’s quadruple camera system will feature a 24MP+5MP+10MP+8MP configuration. The 24MP sensor will be the main one, while the 5MP and 10MP ones will be responsible for zooming in onto the subject and capture it without resulting in a loss of image quality. Since the 5MP and a 10MP camera will both be responsible for zooming, the Galaxy A9 Star Pro might feature 3x optical zoom, which will be the first time that a mid-range smartphone gets this upgrade.
As for the 8MP sensor, it will be housed inside a wide-angle lens that will be capable of a 120-degree field of view. Coming to the other specifications, the Galaxy A9 Star Pro will reportedly feature a large 6.28-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen and it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. Thanks to the larger screen, the smartphone might also be housing a 3720mAh battery, which means that the handset will easily be able to last an entire day.
Another interesting thing that we’d like to mention here is that Samsung might launch the Galaxy A9 Star Pro with a fingerprint sensor that is mounted towards the side of the smartphone instead of at the back. We understand that the render goes against this, but there are reports that just like the Galaxy A7, the company will be adopting the same thing biometrics position with the upcoming device.

Samsung is going to be hosting a 4X Fun event on the 11th of October, where the Galaxy A9 Star Pro is expected to be launched. Later, the company is going to be announcing which key markets are going to be receiving this smartphone. Since the Galaxy A7 (2018) is going to be making its way to the Indian market very soon, we strongly believe that the Galaxy A9 Star Pro will also be landing there and thanks to its improved camera specifications, it could be an expensive phone.

Samsung has not said if the Galaxy A9 Star Pro is going to be landing in India or not. We will only find out after the smartphone has officially been launched on the aforementioned date. If the device does manage to end up getting sold in India, we expect that it will come with a price of Rs. 29,999 for the base configuration, which could sport 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of onboard storage.
