Xiaomi revealed its Mi MIX 3 last week. Now it is throwing out a new detail regarding the phone, that could make it even more interesting. It has been announced that the phone will support 5G.
It was only last week when we got our first official look of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. Now it looks like we are getting more details, and this one is quite interesting.
The news was shared via Twitter, where Donovan Sung, who is Xiaomi’s Director of Product Management and Global spokesperson, showed off a picture of the Mi MIX 3. The smartphone looked to be in some kind of testing environment, and it was later revealed that the handset had successfully connected to a 5G data network. This news is quite impressive, as it could be the first phone that we see in the wild, capable of 5G.
Of course, last month we did get to see the Moto Z3, but that phone does not natively offer 5G support and requires an additional accessory in order to make it compatible with the network. Sung says the Mi MIX 3 will be available in October, which could make it a very alluring handset for those that want to be ready for 5G, which is slated to arrive sometime in 2019.
