Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is getting a big update this month, and one major change is the level cap will be raised by at least 20 levels to accommodate future content.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey offers a sprawling, active world with plenty to do beyond the main quest. Even so, the developers have made clear their plans to release consistent content updates going forward. And while it’s hard to complain about an abundance of content, some players have found it discouraging when they reach the level cap before finishing a majority of the game. Thankfully, Ubisoft plans to address this issue in the latest update coming this month.
Among a bevy of substantial updates, Assassin Creed Odyssey‘s November patch will raise the level cap, currently set at 50, by “no less than 20 levels” to accommodate players wanting to experience everything the game has to offer, including all future content updates.
Of course, raising the level cap brings a greater advantage to those who haven’t yet reached the current level cap, as they won’t have missed out on any experience. However, Ubisoft said in the November update blog that players who have already reached level 50 will be compensated with proportional new ability points.
At the same time as some players feel they’ve reached the level cap too quickly, others are dealing with the woes of a leveling system that makes enemies a real chore to deal with. The November update is bringing considerable changes to the newest entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, including story content, events, items, and game features. Despite some recent technical hiccups slowing down the schedule for events, Ubisoft seems extraordinarily committed to keeping Odyssey a fresh experience for the foreseeable future. For just the second time in the series’ history, Assassin’s Creed won’t see a new release next year, instead focusing on updating this latest installment.
Following the success of last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey was well-received critically and commercially upon its release, earning the title of most successful Assassin’s Creed launch on modern platforms. Undoubtedly, Ubisoft plans to retain Odyssey‘s strong player base by taking feedback into account when planning for future updates and patches.
