Newegg remains one of the most popular stores for PC enthusiasts, even though it rarely competes with Amazon on pricing these days. The site makes it easy to pick out the right PC components for your build, and purchases are still tax-free in some states. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the busiest times of the year for online retailers, and Newegg will likely have a few good deals on offer.
In this post, we’ll go over what kind of sales you can expect to see in the weeks ahead, and what you should keep an eye out for.
What to expect from Newegg deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday
Historically, Newegg has had fairly good Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. Last year we noted over 100 good deals from the store, especially for graphics cards, power supplies, and SSDs.
That being said, it might be best to set your expectations low for Newegg’s upcoming sales. The vast majority of the store’s recent deals, even ones that only last a day, have been somewhat lame— refurbished Chromebooks, white-label TVs, cheap Android tablets, graphics cards with poor reviews, and so on. Sorry Newegg, a NAS hard drive for $10 off the usual price is not a “shell shocker.”
The store’s ‘Black November’ catalog is mostly underwhelming—$10 off an SSD, $20 off a stick of 16GB DDR4 RAM, and so on. It’s likely that Newegg is saving the best deals for the actual Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, but the early sales aren’t promising.
