Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all set to expand its Redmi series of smartphone with the launch of Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone.
NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is all set to expand its Redmi series of smartphone with the launch of Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone. The company has scheduled an event for today in China where it will unveil the handset. The company has already launched the smartphone in Thailand in September this year.
The USP of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is its quad camera setup. The handset sports a dual camera setup on both front and back. This is the first smartphone of the Redmi series to come with four cameras. The smartphone comes with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, dual tone LED flash, dual PF focus and a 5MP secondary sensor on the rear end. The front of the smartphone features a 20MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. The company claims that both the cameras come with AI features which include AI portrait and scene recognition.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system topped with company’s own layer of customisation. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB by adding a microSD card.
Measuring 157.9 x 76.38 x8.2mm, the smartphone houses a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster for controlling home appliances and other devices. On the connectivity front the smartphone offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery.
After the China launch it is expected that the company will soon launch the
smartphone in India as well.
Recently, Xiaomi launched its latest wearable
Mi Band 3 in India. Priced at Rs 3,999, the device comes with a 0.78-inch touchscreen OLED display along with a physical button. The company claims that the fitness tracker can deliver up to 20 days of battery backup on a single charge and is also water resistant.
