Improbable Super Bowl path? Why Rams RB C. J. Anderson doesn’t see it that way

ATLANTA – C. J. Anderson didn’t sugarcoat the feeling.
“Losing a job always sucks,” the Rams running back told USA TODAY Sports on Tuesday afternoon. “Have you ever been fired?”
How about three times in one year? That’s what Anderson experienced thanks to the Broncos releasing him April 16, the Panthers following on Nov. 13 and then the Raiders doing the same on Dec. 12.
So it’s reasonable to view his Super Bowl berth as improbable after unproductive stints with three sub-.500 teams this season alone.
Anderson doesn’t see it that way.
“It’s my third time playing in the Super Bowl,” Anderson said. “I’m pretty comfortable where I’m at.”

A young Los Angeles team can benefit from that experience on Sunday against the Patriots. Anderson is one of just four Rams with Super Bowl experience and three with rings. Meanwhile, Tom Brady will be playing in his Super Bowl for a Patriots team that boasts 38 players who have played in the game, including 27 who have rings.
With teams having explained their reasoning for showing him the door, Anderson is grateful he even “kind of got that relationship clarity of why we’re breaking up,” he says of his string of dismissals.
