As the federal government goes through day 15 of the partial shutdown, White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney is stating that President Donald Trump has offered a compromise to Democrats on the proposed wall at the U. S.-Mexico border.
While the president has repeatedly talked of a concrete wall to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the United States, Mulvaney says that Trump has offered “to take a concrete wall off the table.”
Mulvaney’s comments will air during Sunday’s Meet The Press, though NBC released an early clip of the interview with Chris Todd.
“(Trump) was willing to agree, and he mentioned this at the Rose Garden press conference, to take a concrete wall off the table,” Mulvaney said after Todd asked what Trump is offering to Democrats.
