Huawei made the announcement on Twitter where it tweeted out an image showing a phone in a folded state and date of the launch event.

Alongside Samsung, Huawei was among the first smartphone makers gunning to launch a foldable smartphone. Very little was known about the company’s plans or its foldable device but Huawei has now officially announced an event in Barcelona that will be held ahead of MWC 2019. where it is expected to launch a foldable smartphone. The foldable smartphone is also speculated to come with 5G support. The development comes recently after a Dutch website released the 3D renders of Huawei’s alleged foldable phone.
As per the renders, the phone could sport a large display, which could be bigger than the Galaxy Fold. Unlike the Galaxy Fold that folds inwards, hiding the large display, Huawei’s phone is touted to fold like a clamshell.
