A high school baseball coach and his wife were electrocuted Sunday while repairing a field damaged by Hurricane Michael, authorities said.
Corey Crum, 39, and his wife, Shana Crum, 41, were killed as they worked to install a new scoreboard at Liberty County High School in Bristol Sunday afternoon. The couple’s 14-year-old son was also injured but is expected to survive, Liberty County Sheriff Eddie Joe White said.
“Coach Crum, along with some members of the team, parents and community volunteers were having a work day at the baseball field to repair damages from Hurricane Michael,” White wrote on Facebook. “Coach Crum was operating a boom lift, and unloading a piece of equipment from a trailer when the boom of the lift made contact with overhead power lines.
