Google is reported to be announcing two more Pixels, dubbed the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, also known as Pixel 3 Lite and Lite XL. Here is everything we’ve heard.
Google announced the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in October 2018, but there have been a number rumours circulating about a couple more Pixel devices.
These devices were originally dubbed the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL, as well as Sargo and Bonito, though they are now being called Pixel 3a and 3a XL, which we will refer to them as in this feature. Here is everything we’ve heard so far. Quick summary
The Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL are expected to be announced at Google I/O, which kicks off on 7 May. It is thought they will feature plastic designs, the same camera specifications as the more expensive Pixel models and they will run on Android Pie.
In terms of price, reports claim the smaller model – the Pixel 3a – will sit within the $400 to $500 price range. Droid Life published a number of images of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL from several angles, along with some promotional images and some spec details.
According to the publication, the Pixel 3a will have a 5.56-inch display, while the Pixel 3a XL will have a 6-inch display. Both will apparently have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and both will have a 12.2-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front cameras with Google’s Night Sight on board.
It’s also claimed the Pixel 3a will have a 3000mAh battery, while the Pixel 3a XL will have a 3700mAh battery. Both will apparently come with fast charging, with 7 hours use in 15 minutes.1/6Droid Life
1 May 2019: Google teaser confirms new phones are coming
Google released a teaser in India showing an outline of a phone, with the power button and volume rocker visible at the top.
