Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic online multiplayer game, Fallout 76, is free to play this weekend on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Following the recent release of game’s Wastelanders expansion, players are warming to Bethesda’s much-maligned Fallout 76. We still haven’t played the game – and probably won’t – but if you’re tempted, you can take a trip to the ruins of Appalachia for free this weekend.
Fallout 76 is free to download and play from today (starting 9 a.m. PT) on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You can play as much as you like until May 18, and earn double XP while you do so.
The free play event includes the core game plus all of the expansions released to date, including the Wastelanders update.
The Fallout 76 base game and Wastelanders bundle is also discounted by 28% on the Xbox One Digital Games Store and PlayStation Store. All achievements and earned during the free play promotion will carry over to purchased copies of the game.

Remasters of two video game classics are our picks from this week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
Aspyr Media announced the HD remaster of the N64 classic Star Wars Episode I: Racerlast month. Since then, the PlayStation 4 version of the game has been pushed back. The Switch edition is still due to arrive this week, but at the time of writing, it isn’t listed on the eShop’s upcoming page. We’re counting our midi-chlorians with anticipation and hope.
Update: May 11,2020. Aspyr Media has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch release of Episode I: Racer has also been pushed back.
We are so excited to share Star Wars Episode l: Racer with you soon! Unfortunately, due to the ongoing work from home requirements across the industry, the game will be further delayed on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. We’ll be back with an update as soon as possible.

Another game we are looking forward to revisiting is the remaster of OG Xbox launch title, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee.
Huntdown from Easy Trigger Games also looks good. It’s a side-scrolling action game with top-notch 16-bit graphics, an ice-cool soundtrack, and a clip full of 80s movie tributes. It’s certainly not original, but it looks a like lots of fun.
Meanwhile, sports fans can look forward to TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 and Super Mega Baseball 3, which promises a host of gameplay and technical improvements. Other new releases include Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix, She Sees Red, and Thy Sword.
The US Nintendo eShop is also listing The Elder Scrolls: Blades with an “Estimated Release Date” of May 14. We’re dubious.
Here’s the full lineup of new Nintendo eShop releases. We’ll keep this list updated throughout the week with any last-minute additions and changes.

Unreal Engine 5 will arrive in 2021.
Today, via Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighley and Epic Games gave us our first look at PS5 gameplay. The gameplay was from an Epic-created tech demo, though, so maybe “demoplay” is the appropriate term.
