Livingston County has lost one more resident to COVID-19, according to state health officials.
The death reported Tuesday brings the county’s death total to 20.
Livingston County Health Department officials did not immediately release information on the individual who died. The county previously said the first 19 deaths were elderly county residents — 10 men and nine women.
County health officials began reporting probable cases for the first time Tuesday.
Officials say 86 residents – in addition to the 362 cases confirmed by state health officials Tuesday – probably have COVID-19.
The addition of probable cases beings the county’s case total to 448.
County health officials provided the following definition of probable cases in a Tuesday press release.
“Probable cases of COVID-19 disease are individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19, but have not been tested, and meet one of the following conditions within the past 14 days:
County health officials are performing contact tracing on probable cases, and the 86 people are being asked to self-isolate.
