(Follow along below for time-stamped updates on Wednesday’s protest.)
Protests in Detroit following the death of George Floyd are to continue for a 13th day Wednesday despite severe weather that is forecast for southeast Michigan during the afternoon and evening.
The march comes on the same day that Floyd’s brother addresses lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Floyd died two weeks ago in Minneapolis after a police officer kneeled on his neck.
Hundreds have been gathering each night to protest police violence against African-Americans. An 8 p.m. curfew was lifted because protests in Detroit have been peaceful.
