The movie theater chain is now set to reopen in August.
AMC Entertainment, the largest movie theater chain in the U. S., announced Thursday that its theaters are now scheduled to reopen in mid to late August, pushing back its planned July reopening as the pandemic delays release dates for blockbuster films despite the heavy financial toll of remaining closed amid ongoing Covid-19-related lockdowns.
“We’re in a big holding pattern right now,” MKM Partners analyst Eric Handler toldVariety in early July about the release date delays.
