Ten Tennessee lawmakers and legislative staffers have tested positive for the coronavirus as of Monday afternoon, Connie Ridley, director of legislative administration, confirmed.
While Ridley has not offered specifics on who tested positive and the breakdown of lawmakers and legislative staffers, state Rep. Kent Calfee (R) confirmed he and his wife both tested positive earlier in July, the Tennessean reported.
The first two cases were confirmed earlier this month, when Ridley said several cases “and any possible exposures to them are being handled as [the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] recommends,” citing federal privacy laws in declining to provide further detail.
