Nintendo Switch owners are spoilt for choice this week with another packed lineup of promising new eShop releases. Let’s start with a game we know is excellent.
CrossCode is a super cool retro-style RPG from Radical Fish Games with a focus on action, Zelda-style puzzling, and a clever meta-narrative. The game was a smash hit on PC, and we’d be surprised if it isn’t even more of a success on Switch.
We’re also excited to play Superliminal on Nintendo’s flexible console. If the port of Pillow Castle’s first-person optical illusion game is up to scratch, we absolutely recommend this inventive and playful perspective pondering puzzler.
Next, we have a trio of distinctly Japanese games. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is Koji Igarashi’s sequel to the 8-bit Ritual of the Night companion piece.
Catherine: Full Body is a remaster of Zero Studio’s 2011 cult classic. It’s equal parts visual novel, puzzle game, and troubling fever dream.
And finally, how do you create a sequel to the world’s best worst video game? We find out this week when Hidetaka Suehiro’s Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise rolls into town. Expect another instalment of surreal detective work, intriguing characters, and broadly competent gameplay.
Other new games include The Great Perhaps, Laraan, and Distraint 2.
We’ll update this page with any late additions throughout the week. In the meantime, here is this week’s lineup of brand new Nintendo eShop releases.

After a couple of fallow weeks, the Xbox One digital game store is back in business with an excellent lineup of new games.
Our first highlight is the keenly anticipated console release of CrossCode, the genre-blending RPG from Radical Fish Games. The game was a hit on its PC, winning plaudits for its story and careful mix of action RPG mechanics and Zelda-like adventuring. We expect it to pick up even more fans on console.
We’re just as excited to play Superliminal, the perspective-bending first-person puzzle game from Pillow Castle. We’re all familiar with Portal-esqe lab rat games, but Superliminal breaks out of the format with a compelling jaunt through a series of optical illusion-based conundrums.
Koji Igarashi also returns with Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2. It’s another sword-and-whip adventure that combines modern exploratory platforming antics with a classy 8-bit aesthetic.
Finally, F1 2020 is this year’s instalment in Codemasters’ peerless racing simulation series. A wealth of updates under the hood and on the road will likely keep it ahead of the competition. If you’re looking for something a little more straightforward (or slightly curved) check out NASCAR Heat 5.
Each new release can be purchased from the Xbox One digital games store or the Microsoft online store.
If none of these titles get you excited, read about some of this week’s big Xbox One game discounts.
