Apple held a launch event on 15 September 2020. Here are the devices and services that were announced.
Why you can trust Pocket-lint (Pocket-lint) – The company will likely unveil the next iPhone, thought to be called iPhone 12, during the live-streamed event. Typically, Apple announces its latest smartphone in September. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is doing things a little later than normal this year. It reportedly said this past summer that we could expect the next iPhone to arrive late. Then, in September, Apple only unveiled new Apple Watches and iPad, with no word on iPhone 12. But now, as promised, fresh event invites have landed. When is Apple’s event? Apple’s event will take place Tuesday 13 October 2020, starting at 10am PDT – local time to Cupertino. Here are the different regional times:US West: 10am PDTUS East: 1pm EDTUK: 6pm BSTCentral Europe: 7pm CESTChina (Beijing): 1am CST (16 September)Japan: 2am JST (16 September)Australia (Sydney): 3am AEST (16 September)How to watch Apple’s event online You will likely be able to watch the event right here, as Apple typically streams the event on YouTube. We will host it here once the video becomes available. Alternatively, you will be able to watch it on your Apple TV, through the Apple Events app from the App Store for Apple TV, or you can stream from your iOS device via AirPlay. Just ensure it’s a second-generation Apple TV, with the latest Apple TV software or tvOS. What to expect from Apple’s event The star of the show will, of course, be the iPhone 12.
