At the close of the third day of voting on Monday,809,240 early and mail-in ballots had been returned, Secretary of State William Galvin’s office confirmed. Altogether,1,856,471 ballots have been provided either in person or by mail — a number that’s growing every day, officials said. Lexington has logged the highest voter turnout so far, where just under 40% of registered voters have already cast their ballots. Voter turnout stands at 17% statewide. In Boston,34,897 of the city’s 420,264 registered voters have returned their ballots.
