A group of around 20 riders was reportedly taking part in an informal ride to celebrate one of the cyclists’ retirement.
Five cyclists have died and four others were injured following a collision involving a box truck near Las Vegas, according to police in Nevada. The incident happened on US Highway 95 when the vehicle allegedly hit a car assigned to follow a group of about 20 cyclists, said state department of transportation spokesman Tony Illia. The five victims were pronounced dead at the scene, south of Boulder City, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Smaka added.
