More testing sites will open in Muncie this week.
MUNCIE, Ind. — This week, Open Door Health Services has expanded its COVID-19 testing sites at community partner sites within Muncie. Testing is offered at no cost and continues to be available with or without symptoms. The neighborhood-based testing sites were originally located at the Buley Center and Avondale United Methodist Church, but will now include three new sites as well. The newly added testing opportunities are located at Muncie Housing Authority sites. Director of Community Awareness Suzanne Clem said Open Door has heard good feedback from the community about its testing sites. It’s been convenient for those who live or work nearby, particularly for those who may not have access to transportation by car. “In choosing the sites, we looked for partner organizations that have trusted relationships in their neighborhoods, and where both outdoor and indoor space would be available to provide testing in all types of weather,” Clem said in an email to The Star Press. “We wanted to focus on locations where residents would benefit from having a testing option within walking distance.
