Xiaomi has refreshed its Mi Mix lineup with a new foldable smartphone that sports a massive 8.01-inch display. The Mi Mix Fold features a design that’s similar to the Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
In 2019, Xiaomi first showed off a foldable smartphone prototype with a double-folding design that allowed its massive screen to be bent back on the left and right edges, transforming the tablet-sized device into a more phone-like form factor. The prototype never made it to a commercial version, but Xiaomi announced the Mi Mix Alpha, instead, with a screen that wrapped nearly the entire phone. Today, Xiaomi unveiled a new foldable phone that looks pretty much like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup and Huawei’s Mate X2. The Mi Mix Fold uses a more conventional folding style that features a bigger screen inside and a smaller one on the outside.
