Federal officials say Stone set up a company to “fund a lavish lifestyle,” despite owing close to $2 million in taxes.
The Department of Justice filed a civil lawsuit Friday against former Trump campaign advisor Roger Stone and his wife, Nydia, accusing the couple of owing the Internal Revenue Service nearly $2 million in unpaid income taxes. A longtime political operative with a penchant for controversy, Roger Stone has had been a friend and advisor to Trump since the 1980s, and headed his exploratory committee for a presidential run in 1999.
