Learn more. “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” is a new animated series debuting on Disney Plus on May 4, which is a date also known as “Star Wars Day.” The premiere will be an extended episode running 70 minutes, and new episodes will arrive every Friday starting May 7. “The Bad Batch” refers to a specialized crew of soldiers introduced in another animated series, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” While most of the Republic’s clone soldiers are identical, the five members of Clone Force 99 have unique abilities that make them an elite team. The miniseries takes place as the Republic army becomes the villainous Galactic Empire from the original “Star Wars” film, and the members of The Bad Batch are forced to choose sides.
