Luca, Disney/Pixar’s next film in a long lineup of animated films, tells the coming-of-age story of two friends with a big nautical secret, who decide to explore a small Italian seaside town. It’s the full-length directorial debut of Italian director Enrico Casarosa (“La Luna”), with Jacob Tremblay ( Room, Wonder) voicing the title character. The internet’s love for these sweet sea monster boys and their Italian summer is already real, and luckily, we won’t have to wait long to see ’em in action. The theatrical release of Luca was cancelled due to the pandemic, but the film was released exclusively on Disney+. You can catch Luca and his “best summer ever” on Disney+ starting June 18, 2021.
