Actors love winning most awards except for one. The Razzies – short for the Golden Raspberry Awards – celebrate the best of the worst in Hollywood. They are the self-proclaimed “ugly cousin to the Oscars” that honor “the worst of cinematic under-achievements” of the year. Actor Bruce Willis was awarded a Razzie on Saturday but now in the wake of his family announcing the actor’s aphasia diagnosis, the organization will be rescinding his award. “If someone’s medical condition is a factor in their decision making and/or their performance, we acknowledge that it is not appropriate to give them a Razzie,” co-founders John J.B. Wilson and Mo Murphy said in a statement (via IndieWire). This year’s Razzies categories included a special “worst performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie” category with all eight movies he made on the docket. Willis won for “Cosmic Sin” which was described as “more Bruce Willis than any starving viewer could stomach.” The satirical Razzies are already slightly controversial, and Willis is no stranger to winning them. According to NJ.com, the actor has two Razzies already plus 20 nominations from his decades-long career.
