Fayetteville, N.C. — The Houston Astros lead the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 heading into Game 6 of the World Series on Saturday night.
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers serve as the Astros’ Single-A minor league affiliate, and some of the players in the World Series also played for the Woodpeckers before heading to the majors. It includes pitcher Cristian Javier, who pitched six innings of a combined no-hitter thrown by Astros pitchers.
“On our social media page, it blew up,” said Fayetteville Woodpeckers general manager Steve Pelle.
