A video from Caroline Titus, a former publisher and editor at the Ferndale Enterprise, shows her 140-year-old Victorian home in disarray following the earthquake that hit Northern California early Tuesday morning.
A baker’s rack with cups, kitchen wares and possibly an entire door appear are strewn on the ground.
“This was our coffee station,” Titus tweeted with the video of the scene. “Sorry for dark video. Power still out.”

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake rocked far Northern California early Tuesday, causing widespread damage to roads and homes across Humboldt County.
There is “some damage” to buildings and infrastructure, and two hospitals in the area lost power and were running on generators, but the scale of the damage appeared to be “minimal” compared to the strength of the quake, Brian Ferguson, a spokesperson for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, told the Associated Press.
