There are plenty of upcoming PlayStation 5 games to look forward to, and here we highlight the system’s most anticipated titles.
The PlayStation 5 has been out for some time now, and its reception has been mostly positive. It includes lots of quality-of-life improvements over its predecessor, the PlayStation 4, such as faster load times, a solid-state drive (SSD) instead of a regular hard disk drive (HDD), and an improved controller in the form of the new DualSense. However, a console is only as good as the games available on it, and thankfully, the PS5 has you covered on that front as well.
While the machine already has a worthy library of great PS5 games, there are even more to look forward to, with some releasing as soon as this month, while others are still years away. In the video game world, it’s not uncommon to be aware of games that are still several years out from release. It’s also normal for a new game to be revealed and launched within just a couple of months. Final Fantasy XVI is finally on its way in 2023 and it looks to be more fantasy-driven than its predecessor. On top of that, it will be a PS5 console exclusive, meaning you’ll have to get a PS5 if you plan on playing it outside of the PC ecosystem. Final Fantasy XVI certainly looks jaw-dropping in the visual department.

Atlas Fallen’s story is still a bit of a mystery, but when we demoed the upcoming title in March we immediately got Forspoken vibes — in a good way. The open-world action RPG puts players into the lowest caste in this world’s society who was bonded with an ancient gauntlet. That gauntlet has an amnesic spirit named Nyaal living inside it and is now trying to save the world from gods that have left it in desert-filled ruins. It’s more melee-focused compared to Forspoken‘s all-magic combat system, but it operates in a similar vein.
