Former Vice President Mike Pence’s presidential campaign has met the requirements for the first GOP presidential debate after reaching the donor threshold, his campaign confirmed to news outlets late Monday, after the ex-VP’s campaign capitalized on former President Donald Trump’s indictment and allegations Trump tried to pressure Pence into rejecting the 2020 election results.Key Facts

Pence’s campaign has reached the 40,000 unique donors required to qualify for the primary debate, Fox News first reported.

His campaign had already passed the polling requirement for making the debate stage, which requires candidates to earn at least one percent support in three polls, including two national ones.

Pence meeting the donor threshold comes after his campaign previously reported the former VP received more than 7,400 donations in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s indictment.

His campaign capitalized on the indictment, selling merchandise with the phrase “Too Honest” after Trump allegedly told him he was “too honest” after he refused to block Congress from certifying the election results, according to the indictment.
