A woman kiker identified as Nancy Sampson, 61, of Greer, South Carolina, died after tumbling 150 feet over a steep cliff from Glassmine Falls waterfall overlook at milepost 361 along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway in Buncombe County,North Carolina, northeast of Asheville. Sampson’s body was recovered by the Reems Creek Fire Department with the assistance of Mount Mitchell State Park Rangers and a volunteer from the Trauma Intervention Program of Western North Carolina.
