The Philippines, through the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is seeking reelection to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council.
In a speech by DOTr secretary Jaime Bautista and delivered by DOTr Undersecretary for Maritime Elmer Sarmiento, the Philippines can achieve more in its maritime goals as well as in protecting the welfare of Filipino seafarers as a member in the 40-member council.
