‘Home Improvement’ star Zachery Ty Bryan pled guilty for felony assault and cut a deal after a domestic violence incident.
Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan‘s legal troubles continue.
The former child actor appeared in court on Wednesday (Oct. 25), where he pleaded guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree constituting domestic violence, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor previously faced 19 to 20 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections, but his lawyers cut a deal that required him to undergo just seven days in jail and 36 months of supervised probation. A second count was also dismissed.
Bryan’s attorney, John Kolego, addressed the outcome in a statement to THR.
“Mr. Bryan decided to accept this resolution and admit that he recklessly caused physical injury to his domestic partner to avoid further trauma to his family so they could move on and heal,” Kolego said.
The case pertained to Bryan’s July arrest, in which police responded to an alleged domestic violence dispute between himself and an unidentified woman, who is believed to be his longtime partner Johnnie Faye Cartwright. The couple share three children.
The sentencing also requires Bryan to abide by certain conditions related to the domestic violence case.
