A massive leak of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 shows impressive CPU and GPU gains paired with improved efficiency, plus incredible upscaling features
The Snapdragon Summit is only a couple of days away, but that has not stopped a detailed specifications and features leak of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, revealing the improvements compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, along with a plethora of advantages for Android smartphones and tablets in multiple categories. The chipset maker has also invested heavily in GPU upscaling this time, making it possible to play games at the 8K resolution while also supporting visual additions such as global illumination and ray tracing.New specifications leak reveals a myriad of improvements across several categories with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Coming to the CPU and GPU improvements first, MSPowerUser showed off a leaked press slide, highlighting that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 sports a ‘1 + 5 + 2’ CPU cluster and is mass produced on the 4nm process. The CPU is said to be 30 percent faster and 20 percent more power efficient, but the slide does not reveal if these gains are when the new SoC is compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or the one before.
