While many players have scoured Tears of the Kingdom’s Hyrule for secret lore tidbits, many mysteries still remain, ready to be solved.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a hit among fans of the franchise, which could finally go back to the Land of Hyrule and find out what happened to beloved characters like Link, Zelda, and many more, after the events of Breath of the Wild.
While Tears of the Kingdom was praised for its new and improved plot line that revealed plenty of exciting new information about Hyrule, it still left audiences with several intriguing questions that were never answered. This is par for the course for The Legend of Zelda franchise, and we can never be sure if these mysteries will be resolved in the near future or if fans will be left in the dark. 9 Who Was The Ancient Hero?
In Breath of the Wild, players were shown an important tapestry with images of an ancient hero sealing Calamity Ganon over 1,000 years ago. While the initial conclusion might be to assume this is Link, the tapestry itself showed an unusual hero, with green skin and long, red hair. Weird, but fans didn’t think too much of it at the time.
In Tears of the Kingdom, after going through the challenging task of completing all 152 Shrines in the game, players can unlock an armor set called Ancient Hero’s Aspect, which gives them a closer look at this mysterious character. We can assume he’s a Zonai, but who was he exactly? How it is that we never found out what happened to such an important character? This is definitely the biggest unsolved mystery of the franchise so far. 8 Who Was Rauru & Sonia’s Child?
During the events of the game’s plot, Princess Zelda travels back in time and meets King Rauru and Queen Sonia, a Zonai and a Hylian respectively. What’s even weirder is that they both specify Zelda is their descendant.
This is so intriguing because we never see Rauru and Sonia’s offspring, nor they are ever mentioned at any point during the game. Since Sonia later dies at the hands of Ganondorf, this is left unanswered: did they have a kid off-screen and/or before the events of the game? Was the Ancient Hero their son? 7 What Happened To The Tribe Behind The Barbarian Set?
In Breath of the Wild, players could find and equip a set of armor known as the Barbarian Set, which had an intriguing description that mentioned “an ancient warlike tribe from the Faron region”. When the Zonai Tribe in Tears of the Kingdom was first revealed, many assumed that they were the creators of this outfit.
