United Auto Workers union members who work at General Motors ratified a tentative contract Thursday, marking the first group of union workers of the Big Three Automakers to officially approve a union deal after a six week-long strike earlier this fall.Key Facts

In a historic agreement with each of the three big American car makers—GM, Ford and Stellantis—UAW won its members wage increases of at least 25% over the next four years and cost-of-living adjustments to combat rising inflation.

Of the nearly 36,000 GM union members who voted Thursday, about 55% voted in favor of the agreement, according to a tally of the results from all the GM locals shared by UAW.
