Google wants Android users to get the December security update immediately, here's why

Google rolls out December security patch for Android devices, fixing 85 vulnerabilities, including a critical security flaw (CVE-2023-40088). The flaw allowed for remote code execution without user interaction. Google confirms the vulnerability has been fixed. The Pixel update, known as the Quarterly Platform Release or Pixel Feature Drop, is separate from the security patch and will bring new features, such as Video Boost for the Pixel 8 Pro, which enhances videos through computational photogra.

With the December security update, the tech giant has fixed 85 vulnerabilities which also included a critical one (CVE-2023-40088). Meanwhile, Google listed only 16 system vulnerabilities which also included the critical security flaw. This particular flaw was listed as an RCE or Remote code execution.
