Aileen Cannon Taking Big Gamble in Donald Trump Case: Legal Analyst

The judge in Trump’s classified documents case is hoping that Trump will be elected president, a legal analyst has claimed.
The judge in Donald Trump’s classified documents case will likely reap “large rewards” for delaying his case, according to a former federal prosecutor.
Attorney Harry Litman, host of the Talking Feds podcast, wrote that Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, is taking a big gamble on a Trump win in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump is facing 40 federal charges in Cannon’s court over his alleged handling of sensitive materials seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, after leaving the White House in January 2021. He is also accused of obstructing efforts by federal authorities to retrieve them. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Newsweek contacted Trump’s attorney and Cannon’s office for comment on Monday.
Writing in the Los Angeles Times on Monday, Litman wrote that Cannon’s favoritism and many delays will likely be rewarded by a new Trump presidency.
