Microsoft has commented that the delay of Black Myth: Wukong has nothing to do with the rumored Xbox console technical limitations.
Black Myth: Wukong was the success story of August in the games industry; that much is certain. The debut title from Chinese developer Game Science sold 10 million copies in three days and crushed Cyberpunk 2077’s record for the highest player concurrency on Steam registered by a single player game. CD PROJEKT’s game reached 1.05 million concurrent players at its height, while Black Myth: Wukong, no doubt thanks to the massive Chinese community, has peaked at 2.41 million players, ranking second in the all-time peak concurrency Steam chart only behind PUBG: Battlegrounds.
