Meta hasn’t revealed the exact number of employees laid off, but it’s citing ‘team restructuring’ as the primary reason.
Meta has cut jobs across WhatsApp, Instagram, Reality Labs, and other units. The layoffs are not part of a company-wide downsizing, but are instead focused on the restructuring of specific teams.
Meta is making these changes to ensure resources for the impacted teams “aligned with their long-term strategic goals and location strategy”, says company spokesperson Dave Arnold in a statement.
