ASUS has a variety of exclusive BIOS features for its AM5 motherboard lineup and the company is now introducing a brand-new feature called “Core Tuning Config For Gaming” which should boost gaming performance on systems running the latest AMD Ryzen CPUs.
From the details we were able to gather, the new feature fine-tunes the clock (CAS) timings for the memory and the CCDs running on an AM5 motherboard and results in lower latencies than what users were able to get previously. In the best-case scenario, users will see a latency reduction in the double-digit range, which is on top of the inter-core CCD latency fix that was implemented in the previous AMD AGESA BIOS updates.
The BIOS feature is set to Auto by default within the AM5 BIOS panel and can be set to enabled by the user if they are willing to try it out to get benefits in terms of gaming. In terms of real-world testing, a system running the Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU on a ROG Crosshair X670E Gene motherboard and the results are as follows:
