“The Deep State is officially on notice! Kash Patel is coming to clean house!” said Lauren Boebert referring to Kash Patel’s FBI nomination.
Supporters of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement are celebrating the nomination of Kash Patel to director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), marking a pivotal moment for the group’s influence on federal institutions.
Patel, a close ally and staunch supporter of Donald Trump, and a former national security and intelligence official, was tapped by the incoming president during his first administration for several critical roles and has been openly critical of the FBI.
In an announcement on his Truth Social account on Saturday, Trump said: “I am proud to announce that Kashyap “Kash” Patel will serve as the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending justice, and protecting the American people”, adding that Patel will “bring back fidelity, bravery, and integrity to the FBI.”
MAGA-aligned commentators and politicians hailed the move as a victory for transparency and accountability within the FBI, which has faced criticism from the movement over its handling of high-profile investigations in recent years.
Patel has been a controversial figure, accused by some of advancing partisan agendas during his tenure in government roles. His supporters, however, view him as a crusader against what they call the “deep state.”
Several prominent MAGA figures have been celebrating the news online on X, formerly Twitter, with many expressing hope that Patel will take a firm stance against what they see as political bias within the bureau.
