The family of the ‘Queen of Tejano’ is celebrating some news regarding her killer, and fans are reacting on social media.
Yolanda Saldívar, the woman convicted of killing the “Queen of Tejano”, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, has been denied parole by the Texas parole board, and the late singer’s family is celebrating.
The decision, announced Thursday, March 27, marks the first time Saldívar, 64, has faced a parole hearing since the tragic death of the 23-year-old singer in 1995.
Selena’s family – which includes her widower, Chris Pérez – expressed gratitude for the decision in a statement on Instagram that partly read: “While nothing can bring Selena back, this decision reaffirms that justice continues to stand for the beautiful life that was taken from us and from millions of fans around the world far too soon.
