The Ukrainians are in the U.S. because they fled Russia’s invasion and the reported move could lead to fast-track deportations.
The Trump Administration plans to revoke temporary legal status for 240,000 Ukrainians who fled Russia’s war, Reuters reported, citing a senior Trump official and three sources familiar with the matter.
According to Reuters, the revocation is expected as soon as April and potentially puts them on a fast-track to deportation. The publication said the plans predate President Donald Trump’s Oval Office spat with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.
They are part of the Trump Administration’s broader effort to walk back protections extended to some 1.8 million migrants allowed to enter the U.
