The star of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ looked back at one dangling thread from the 1980s classics.
Three Ghostbusters films have followed the 1989 release of Ghostbusters 2, and none of them answered a very simple question: what happened to Oscar, the son of Sigourney Weaver’s character, Dana Barrett? Films like 2016’s Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and 2024’s Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire have each given us updates on characters from the franchise, but there’s never been anything about Oscar. And, speaking to Weaver this week, she seemed curious about it too.
Weaver is about to reprise her role as the Na’vi child, Kiri, in James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, and, on the occasion of that release, this io9 reporter somehow found himself in the same room with the living legend.
