Rescue workers were unable to revive victim
CHESTERFIELD TWP. – A 27-year-old Chesterfield Twnship man died after he was hit by a car late Thursday night.
According to a news release from the Chesterfield Township Police Department, James Andromalos was struck by a 2015 Toyota Camry that was being driven north on Jefferson at Roselawn by a 32-year-old township man.
According to the news release, Chesterfield police and fire responded at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday along with police from New Baltimore.
First responders and MedStar Ambulance tried to revive Andromalos, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chesterfield Township’s accident reconstruction team was called to the scene and have completed the preliminary documentation of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this early stage alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be contributing factors in the accident, according to the news release
The driver who struck Andromalos remained at the scene and cooperated during the investigation. He said he never saw the man in the roadway until he struck him, according to the news release
