PCs are pretty much out now because of better laptops and other devices that provide same performance and mobility. However, Intel thinks otherwise as the company plans to change our take on PCs during Computex next week.
Intel’s Client Computing head Gregory Bryant has planned something for Computex which is going to change how we look at those good old PCs.
Intel does have a point here as we can use mobiles to connect socially with people but when it comes to getting work done, PCs are better. Intel wants to focus on productivity and getting work done. The company will focus on five key areas namely, Uncompromised performance; improved connectivity with 5G on the horizon; a dramatic increase in battery life; developing more adaptable platforms that go beyond 2-in-1s and convertibles; and a push towards more intelligent machines with AI and machine learning integration.
Microsoft has already partnered with Qualcomm to develop Always connected PCs which will help Intel to build on something better and innovative. In our opinion, Intel might focus on three important things which are incorporating AI for better performance, productivity-focused PCs, and 5G connectivity.
We still have a week before Computex starts so we will have to hold on for the detailed announcements from Intel. Until then, you can head to the comments section below and let us know what do you expect from Intel this year.
