The recently launched Oppo A5 smartphone went on sale for the first time in China along with the flagship Oppo Find X. The Oppo A5 was earlier launched in China at a price of 1,500 CNY which roughly translates to Rs 15,400 in India. While the Oppo Find X was recently launched in India, we can expect Oppo to launch the budget A5 as well in the country soon. However, there is no official word on the same. Having said that, in India, Oppo has launched its Realme brand under which the parent company would be launching budget phones in the country. The first smartphone under this brand was launched in May in the form of Realme 1 at a starting price of Rs 8,990

In terms of specifications, the Oppo A5 sports a 6.2-inch HD+ FullView display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. The Oppo A5 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 with Adreno 506 GPU, paired with 4GB RAM. It offers a 64GB internal storage and a microSD card support of up to 256GB.
The Oppo A5 comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, paired with an LED flash. For selfies, the device offers an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The cameras of the Oppo A5 come equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) support. The camera on the front is capable of recognizing up to 296 facial features and is powered AI beautify features.
Backed by 4,230mAh battery, the device runs on ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
