10.or D2, the successor to popular budget Android smartphone 10.or D, will be up for an exclusive ‘Early Access Sale’ on Amazon India today. The pricing, features and specifications of the smartphone put it squarely against the Redmi 5A and other affordable entry-level devices.
After releasing a few teasers, Amazon officially launched the 10.or D2 on August 22. The eCommerce giant Amazon’s own franchised smartphone brand, 10.or (pronounced Tenor), is certainly an interesting smartphone. It follows the 10.or D that was launched in India in December last year. The new model comes with a more modern 18:9 aspect ratio display and a few upgraded specifications. The 10.or D2 smartphone will go on sale for Prime members in a Prime early access sale today, August 27, at 12 PM. Interested buyers, who are not yet Amazon Prime members, can get an opportunity to purchase the smartphone in an open-for-all sale starting the very next day, August 28. The smartphone is an Amazon exclusive device.
The 10.or D2 comes in two variants. The base variant has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The other variant comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The 2GB/16GB variant costs Rs. 6,999, while the 3GB/32GB variant costs Rs. 7,999. Both the variants come in two colors – Beyond Black and Glow Gold. If the attractive price isn’t an incentive enough, Amazon India has several appealing launch offers in association with many partners.

The 10.or D2 features a 5.45-inch LTPS display with 720 x 1440 HD+ resolution, and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has 400 nits peak brightness. The entry-level smartphone has a plastic body. However, it does have an interesting metallic coating.
A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, with an Adreno 308 GPU, powers the 10.or D2. Incidentally, even the 10.or D possessed the same chipset. As mentioned above, there’s a 2GB/16GB and a 3GB/32GB variant. Although the storage seems low, there’s a dedicated micro-SD card slot for further expansion up to 128GB.
For photography, the 10.or D2 packs a rather impressive 13MP Sony IMX258 primary camera with phase-detection autofocus, 5-element f/2.0 aperture lens on the back. There’s a single-tone LED flash as well. There is a front-facing 5MP camera unit with a 4-element f/2.0 aperture lens for selfies and video calling. Surprisingly, the front camera too, gets a LED flash.
10.or D Review: An Insufferable Ordeal
A relatively large 3,200mAh battery powers the 10.or D2. Amazon claims the smartphone offers up to 20 days of standby time. The phone can reportedly offer up to 12 hours of video playback, and up to 10 hours of internet browsing over a Wi-Fi network.
For Connectivity, the 10.or D2 includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, USB OTG, FM radio, and 4G VoLTE. Moreover, there are ample sensors onboard, which include proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, LED charge indicator, and a notification indicator.
10.or has not embedded a fingerprint scanner. Neither does the smartphone support Face Unlock. However, the device does get IPX2 water protection. The 10.or D2 measures 147.7×70.5×8.6mm and weighs 144 grams. It runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
